Prambanan Temple in Indonesia
Prambanan is a Hindu temple complex at the Shiva temple at the center. Shiva temple or commonly also referred to as the temple Lorojonggrang because inside the temple there is a huge statue of Goddess Shiva located in a large room. Prambanan merukana a masterpiece of Hindu culture to the 10th century. The temple was built during the reign of King Rakai Rakai Pikatan and Pacific Islands.
Prambanan temple has the form of a tall and slender buildings as high as 47 meters. Around the temple there are hundreds of statues and temples - the small temple. Among them is the temple of Shiva, Vishnu Temple, Brahma Temple, Nandi Temple, Temple Swan, Garuda Temple, Temple Apit, color Temple, and Temple Angle. Prambanan is supposedly related to the legend of a love story Bondowoso who wish to marry Jonggrang where Rorojonggrang provide reservation to Bondowoso to make 1,000 statues overnight.
Actually Prambanan temple was built by King Pikatan as an expression of gratitude to the Lord Shiva. Prambanan temple consists of 3 pages where there is the main temple on the first page, the Shiva temple facing east. On the wall there is a Shiva temple reliefs of the Ramayana story. While on the second page there are ancillary temples, 224 small temples are arranged into 4 series. While on the third page or outer courtyard until now undiscovered relic - a relic temple. This page is currently being used as an open penggung Ramayana Ballet.
As the largest Hindu temple complex in Indonesia, Prambanan is also a world heritage site sebuha UNESCO protected since 1991. The three main temples or commonly referred to as the Trisakti built to the circumstances presented Hyang Trimurti: Batara Shiva (the destroyer), Vishnu (the maintainer) and God Brahma (the creator). Although true when viewed from its history, the building Prambanan was abandoned and it begins to break down so that in 1918 began renovations.
